Dr. Verma is an active educator, choosing to develop this website to inform the public about the field of laryngology and provide a resource for patients with throat disorders.
As a professor at the University of California, Irvine School Of Medicine he actively teaches medical students and resident physicians in training. He also enjoys educating other physicians who are currently in practice. As part of this committment, Dr. Verma developed an instructional course for primary care providers including physicians, nurse practitioners and physicians assistants teaching the intricacies of common ear, nose and throat conditions.
He has spoken most recently at the following meetings:
American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery Annual Meeting – The largest meeting of ear, nose and throat surgeons in the world. Dr. Verma led an instructional course on minimally-invasive office laryngeal surgery.
Research Study Club – A meeting of over 100 otolaryngologists – head and neck surgeons in the Los Angeles area.
California Association of Physician Assistants – A meeting of over 200 physicians assistants statewide which took place in Napa Valley.
He also teaches otolaryngology physicians preparing for the otolaryngology board certification examination.
Dr. Verma is currently editing a textbook, Laryngeal Dissection and Surgical Guide, to be published in 2012.
